Jarvinian is actively seeking investment opportunities in many portions of the IT Mobility sector. Organizations whose technologies are aligned with our basic investment criteria are invited to submit initial proposals for funding.
Basic Investment Criteria
The Jarvinian IT Mobility Initiative seeks to find opportunities in young technology-driven companies, whose innovations span a multitude of industry sectors. The following is designed to serve as a general outline of our investment preferences:
- Sector Preference - Jarvinian centers its investment strategy on the broad-based and rapidly expanding IT Mobility arena. Sectors represented by IT Mobility are Core Infrastructure, Advanced Components, and Enabled Media. Click here for expansion on representative sub-sectors.
- Investment Stage - Our investment strategy focuses on early stage organizations with significant core technologies. Therefore, Jarvinian’s preference is to be the lead investor in Seed, Startup, and Series A rounds. We will participate in later stage rounds for either existing portfolio companies or exceptional new opportunities.
- Investment Size - Typical initial investments will range from $1M to $5M, with an average target cap of $20M over the life of the investment. However, Jarvinian is willing to consider select investments falling above or below this range.
- Geographic Preference - While Jarvinian operates primarily out of the Northeast United States, we do not place geographic restrictions on our investments. Truly valuable innovation is too rare a commodity not to have a global outlook, and we are willing to consider investments in virtually any region.
- Proprietary Technology - The cornerstone of our investment philosophy is robust and well defendable proprietary technologies. Jarvinian seeks companies whose intellectual properties have the capacity to fundamentally alter markets.
- Market Scope - We look for organizations whose technologies exploit fundamental discontinuities in markets greater than $1B in size. Proprietary innovations must displace or complement existing capabilities in ways that ensure long-term market dominance.
